Striving for a healthy smile
Nea Smyrni Dental Clinic welcomes patients of all ages from toddlers to seniors. In addition to complete family dental care, specialized services are also offered.
The goal of Nea Smyrni Dental Clinic is to change the way patients perceive dentistry - the practice offers prompt appointments and convenient hours including Saturday appointments. Walk-ins and emergencies are also welcome. The dental office offers an environment which is inviting, comfortable and relaxing. It affords plenty of parking and easy access for patients.
Patient comfort and sensitivity is of highest importance, ultimately reducing a patient’s anxiety of visiting the dentist.
Apart from his private practice, Dr. Moshopoulos has been a dental consultant to the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical department of the Metropolitan Hospital for over a decade now. Due to the special nature of the patients visiting the hospital clinic e.g., severe oral inflammations, following traumas or even elective procedures, the fundamental protocols resulting in a healthy oral cavity are strictly enforced. His tenure has resulted with Dr. Moshopoulos obtaining extensive experience in treating patients under non-ideal situations. As a result these patients are usually treated with the aid of IV sedation or under general anesthesia.
Dr. Moshopoulos takes pride in the welfare of his patients. Treatment planning, rigorous oral hygiene education and preventive dentistry are considered the foundations upon which reliable restorations can be built. Only when establishing and maintaining a healthy oral cavity (through dental cleanings, cavity fillings, endodontic treatments and the removal of any non restorable teeth) can someone confidently continue to the following stage and restore missing dentition through removable or fixed prostheses.

What Is Sedation Dentistry?
Sedation dentistry uses medication to help patients relax during dental procedures. Although dental procedures are perfectly harmless yet absolutely vital for dental health, some people may have deeply-rooted anxieties and apprehensions about such procedures.
The following types of sedation are routinely used in surgical procedures and both are only performed at a hospital environment.
This type of sedative creates a state of semi-consciousness. It creates a ‘light’ state of mind in which the body is relaxed, feels no pain while a temporary state of amnesia wipes out the memory of the procedure. This mode of sedation is the most popular with patients undergoing surgical extraction procedures and dental implant placements.
Sleep dentistry, as it is commonly referred to, is used in cases of extreme anxiety on part of the patient. It is also an effective tool to curtail pain.
In association with the Metropolitan Hospital, Dr. Moshopoulos is able to offer either IV sedation or general anesthesia to any individual who desires this method of dental treatment.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are replacement tooth roots. Implants provide a strong foundation for permanent fixed or removable replacement teeth that are made to match natural teeth.
The Advantages of Dental Implants:
There are various systems available to achieve a whiter smile including whitening toothpastes, over-the-counter gels, rinses, strips, trays, and whitening products obtained from a dentist.
Teeth whitening is ideal for people who have healthy gums and teeth without fillings. Individuals with yellow tones to their teeth respond best.
The procedure almost exclusively used in Nea Smyrni Dental Clinic is In-office bleaching. This is a procedure also called chair side bleaching and requires up to three (40-minute) office visits.
or Root Canal therapy
Root Canal therapy is a sequence of events for the infected pulp of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and the protection of the decontaminated tooth from future microbial invasion.
Endodontic therapy consists of 3 stages:
Upon completion it is best that the endodontically treated tooth be fitted with a post and core to restore the lost tooth structure and then with a crown to protect and reinforce the remaining tooth thus ensuring it a long life.
What Is Orthodontics?
Orthodontics is the branch of dentistry that corrects teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly.
How Does Orthodontic Treatment Work?
Many different types of appliances, both fixed and removable, are used to help move teeth, retrain muscles and affect the growth of the jaws. These appliances work by placing gentle pressure on the teeth and jaws.
